It’s Official!

We’re excited and want to share it with you!  A signed contract arrived this week from the company that will be publishing one of my novels. So that makes it official. Hallelujah!

Endeavour Publishing Ltd. of London, UK, has purchased the worldwide e-book rights for The Ultimate Threat. The manuscript was sent off to them on Thursday.

Endeavour will now take on the process of preparing my novel for the reading pleasure of all suspense/thriller fans and everyone else curious about what I’ve been up to these past five or six years. The lengthy preparatory process for publication includes final editing, formatting for e-book publication, designing the cover, drafting a marketing plan, and fitting my novel into the flow of books they will be bringing to market in the months ahead.

It’s too early right now to speculate on a publication date. However, you can rest assured that I will keep you posted!

You know, there’s a bizarre irony in all of this:

The Ultimate Threat took more than five years of researching and writing. As it turns out, the main theme is all about what appears to be happening right now – that is, aggressive recruiting by those psychopathic barbarians to lure disillusioned young people from the west into terrorism. And not incidentally, my novel is also about the consequences that we will encounter if we fail as a society to do whatever is necessary to stop these sub-human savages in their tracks.

Thriller figure

Fair warning: This novel is not for the faint of heart, yet it has an abundance of tender moments, too. It is action packed throughout with a seasoning of gruesome reality, while at the same time The Ultimate Threat shares with the reader intimate human moments of highly charged compassion amidst the devastation being forced upon innocent people by the brutal savagery of terrorism.  Sound like the day’s news?

There are a few sub-themes in The Ultimate Threat, including how ISIS has: a) brilliantly utilized the social media to serve their goals, b) manipulated the news media into becoming propagandists for them, and, c) have fomented prejudice among us against Muslims even though the beliefs that drive their insanity bear absolutely no resemblance to the teachings of Islam or their holy book, the Quran.  I should come as a surprise to almost no one that the people we elect and hire to defend us from this scourge have left us vulnerable with their bureaucratic constipation and political one-upmanship.

So the question you need to answer in The Ultimate Threat is this: Will our hero Mark Tremblay ultimately prevail and overcome the sinister forces of evil led by the devious and brutal Abdul Rhamir?  I do hope you’ll tune in when the time comes!

Wishing you a great day!

— James Osborne
