Progress Report

ID-100268455I’m delighted to tell you that my novel, The Ultimate Threat, has been receiving great reviews, and even some media coverage.

An article appeared today in both the print and online editions of our local newspaper, the Vernon Morning Star.  Here’s a link if you’d like to have a look: http://www.vernonmorningstar.com/lifestyles/308201861.html

The story mentions that last Saturday, The Ultimate Threat reached #20 in its category on Amazon’s bestsellers list. I’m happy to tell you that in the past week since, the novel has hit #1 three times in Canada and today it was #23 world wide in its category — that is, among suspense/espionage novels.

What does all of this mean? We have no idea. But it’s encouraging, and we make sure we keep reminding ourselves that we’re still riding the wave of a new release. There is always a flurry of interest to check out the new kid on the block. So it’s much too early to draw any conclusions other than we’re having a great ride!

We’ll keep you posted as things progress.  Hopefully, there’ll be more good news to share with you.

I want to extend my sincere thanks to all of you who’ve downloaded The Ultimate Threat. I hope you found it a compelling read and perhaps picked up a few things you didn’t know. A special thank you to those who’ve found the time to post a review on Amazon.com, .ca and .co.uk.  I’m most grateful.

Reviews are an incredibly important barometer for those who track and comment on such things, like newspaper book reviewers. I’m told the people at the New York Times Review of Books pay no attention to a novel until it has received 500 reviews. That’s  a stretch for this newbie author, but the more reviews The Ultimate Threat receives from online readers means that more reviewers from other news media will pay attention and perhaps give it a good review.

Regardless, your support has been gratifying to say the least. It’s a very encouraging conclusion to the more than five years of research and writing that went into The Ultimate Threat. My hope is to entertain, but also to expand the scope of knowledge about this scourge, how cleverly they are manipulating us, the impact on millions of innocents  and the fallout here and abroad.

My Thanks,

Jim
