“The Maidstone Conspiracy is an extraordinary book from a truly gifted weaver of tales. I realized that it was unusual because it was the only book I’ve ever read that made me feel that what was written had really happened! I think that this may be because James was a journalist and so carried over these unique skills to his thrillers. I found myself feeling sorry for the people who died, were betrayed or physically harmed as if they were real people and this was an actual news report. Also, the unexpected twist at the end caught me completely by surprise. (And I pride myself on solving murder mysteries.) Always, too, James’s depth of knowledge about details is absolutely astounding. Bravo James!!!”
